Infrasauna

The SAUNA is an excellent way for you to relax and rejuvenate - to rest, let go, and regenerate in a way that preserves your health - right in your own home or workplace. Sauna use has a remarkably positive effect on both body and mind.

The infrasauna, a modern approach to combining the benefits of heat and sunlight, is currently growing in popularity due to its ease of use and pleasant effect. Today, infrasaunas are accessible to almost anyone.

They are used in conventional medicine and natural medicine alike, as well as in cosmetics, bathing culture, and preventative health centres. Infrasaunas can play an integral role in preserving health and promoting healing.

The positive effects the infrasauna has on the system are similar to those experienced with the Finnish sauna. Doctors have used infrared light and recognised its therapeutic value for years. The effect may be likened to a fever produced by the body, which promotes the destruction of bacteria and viruses, obstructing reproduction, while increasing the number of white blood cells that battle infectious diseases in the body.

An infrasauna session begins by creating a feeling of heat that is much higher than reality - at least 20 degrees higher. This acts to intensify elimination toxins from the body, which reacts in accordance with the higher temperature. Experts claim that this makes the infrasauna more intense, more effective, and healthier than the conventional Finnish sauna.

One reason for the popularity of the infrasauna is that the 30-minute sessions make it easier to fit into an average lifestyle. In addition, the maximum temperature in the cabin is 50 degrees, which is easier to bear and more pleasant than the conditions in the conventional Finnish sauna.

Mode of action

What is infrared radiation? The heat of the Sun, which is necessary for life, is a form of infrared radiation. Light in the infrared zone warms the outer layers of the skin beneficially, without damaging them. Upon penetrating the skin, infrared rays are transformed into heat energy, which is then dispersed to organs throughout the body by the circulatory system.

  • In an infrasauna, the body is exposed to radiant heat similar in composition to that of the Sun`s rays.
  • As with the Sun`s warmth, these rays enter the system, where they exert a positive effect.
    This effect is enhanced by the absence in the cabin of UV radiation and microwaves.
  • Infrared rays do not use air as a medium, so they release all their energy in the solid bodies with which they come into contact, heating them directly. As a result, more than 80 % of infrared radiation is applied to warming the body, and only 20 % the surrounding air.
  • The human body absorbs 95% of the radiation produced by the sauna.
  • Because of the excellent conductive properties of the large amounts of water found in tissues under the skin, emitted infrared radiation reaches down some 5-6 mm below the skin surface. These deep-penetrating rays induce the warming effect within the body`s muscle tissue and internal organs.
  • The body senses the warming of its tissues and seeks to cool them down using its usual repertoire of processes: heart rate and pulse increase, circulation is enhanced, and the body begins to sweat.
  • In an infrasauna, the body activates all available cooling systems, of which the sweating process is one of the most significant.

The infrasauna is recommended for the treatment of:

  • heart and venal problems (including those suffered by the physically handicapped);
  • high blood pressure (sufferers of this condition should not take a cold shower after a sauna session);
  • low blood pressure (infrasauna use promotes blood circulation);
  • circulatory disorders;
  • kidney problems and functional disorders (the infrasauna relieves loads on the kidneys by eliminating toxins);
  • respiratory, ear, nose, and throat illnesses;
  • asthma and allergies;
  • pain;
  • dislocated joints, pulled muscles, sprains, and muscle cramps;
  • digestive complaints;
  • skin diseases (acne, psoriasis, eczema, and cellulite;
  • problems of the nervous system, stress, fatigue, and insomnia;
  • complaints of the extremities (gout, arthritis, diseases of the joints, stiff muscles, muscle pain, wrist and back pain, sore limbs, general and lower back pain, inflammation of the joints, etc.);
  • sunburn (infrared rays are excellent for relieving the symptoms of sunburn);
  • the Infrasauna may also be used to improve immune function in children.
